Spotted: shoes

I was scanning a few celebrity fashion websites, and I found a pic of Taylor Momsen filming in NYC wearing these long black buckled shoes, and couldn't resist posting a pic of them. 

LOVE Keira Knightley's new Do

Earlier today Kiera Knightley was spotted at the 2011 Spring/Summer Chanel show, sporting a new hair-do.  Though its not as short as Emma Watson's new do, I personally think it really looks great! It gives her a cool pixie-fairy looking kind of edge. See for yourselves!  Comment below on what you think!

For the past few weeks, Juliette has seemed like the perfect candidate to be Gossip Girl - but fear not, Juliette has been reported to not have anything to do with Gossip Girl's true identity.  That said, who is she really?? And what is with the jail mate in the orange suit? Who is Juliette Sharp??
For now, we'll just have to settle, and I have a few fashion numbers for readers today.
One of the first scenes of Gossip Girl episode 3, Serena and Blair were seen walking down the path at Columbia; what caught my eye was the big black bag Blair was holding.  The bag she was shouldering is reported to be the Mulberry Alexa Bag, and is over $1,000!  I couldn't take my eyes off it, it looked gorgeous, and is perfect for packing with tons of books.  See for yourselves!

Next on the fashion of Gossip Girl that caught my eye this week, is the chunky necklace Lily wore to Fashion's Night Out.  I myself have never been, but I hear it's a completely fabulous night!  The necklace Lily was wearing was a Aurélie Bidermann Heart Beaded Necklace, and reported to be more than $1,000.  This piece caught my eye because it doesn't look like most necklaces.  This necklace, the chains hanging don't even go half way around the neck, and yet seemed elegant.  See for yourselves!

To me, I normally acknowledge Thurday's at the night for Vampire Diaries.  What is so great about Thursday night this year is, right after Vampire Diaries, is Nikita.  But I'm getting ahead of myself here.

UPDATE!!

Hey everyone reading this!!!
I just wanted to post a quick update about what will be happening in the future with myfashionclosets.blogspot.com. 
In the next week or so I will be receiving a new camera, and some new fashion pieces, so hopefully I will be able to post photos of my own fashion!! (and not just pics of samples from, exp., forever21)
Fall is beautiful, with the changing colours of leaves, so hopefully I'll be able to do some shots outside!!
I have also been thinking about changing the '6 Inch Heels' sign, and coming up with something new and different; and maybe also changing the background.....  Any ideas??

Spotted Trend: Oxford shoes

Summer is now over, and the cold wind of Fall is already starting to settle in.  Everyone is buzzed about school, having already been in classes for the past week or so.  It's time to bring out the Fall 'winter' clothes, and one of the trends I am enjoying are the Oxford shoes.
I'll admit a few months ago, I wasn't too fond of the Oxford shoes; at first they looked a little like clown shoes, but after a few days, I completely fell in love with them.  And they even come in heels!!
Over the past few weeks, I have been seeing this trend of Oxford shoes showing up more than ever; in Teen Vogue, Gossip Girl, and even Pretty Little Liars.

Spotted: Gossip Girl, Blair's Necklace

Last night, as many of you know, was Monday, which means Gossip Girl premiered another episode, 'Double Identity." A few posts back, I posted about Blair's Oscar de la Renta red dress, but today I decided to post about the necklace that Blair was wearing.  Of course, as shown on Gossip Girl, Blair was wearing on of Harry Winston's own: the Harry Winston Padparadscha and Diamond Necklace.  I won't say to much about the necklace itself, as I don't know much about diamonds, but here is a picture of the necklace:

Since I will probably never be able to afford Harry Winston, I will be posting some other necklaces that will probably be less expensive.  Nothing be even come close to replacing Harry Winston, but who says a girl can't dream?

Book Bags

Spotted: Gossip Girl Promo Episode 1 - Blair's Dress

If your a huge Gossip Girl fan, chances are you've seen the new promo for episode 2 of Season 4, and that you have probably seen the red dress (although it almost looks like it has a bit of orange to it) that Blair wears.  I have decided to post this a little early than I normally would, as I usually post these tv 'spotted' posts after I myself have seen the show (and I live in the part of Canada that usually sees it last), but the dress was so completely gorgeous when I saw it on the promo that I just couldn't resist posting; even my sister commented that she liked it (which is saying much since she's not usually the fashion type). 
The dress is from the Oscar de la Renta pre-fall 2010 collection, and it is the Vermillion Silk Organza Pleated Gown (and it reported to be over $8,000!).  I must admit, the dress is probably one of the most beautiful gowns I've seen, even on Gossip Girl.

Forever21 Bloggers!!

Like many other bloggers, I tend to read other blogs for inspiration, and for something else to read, as well as to daydream about the day when I'll get to finally wear Chanel.  So when I flipped onto Forever 21's website homepage, I was excited to recognize at least one or two bloggers showing how to get their look for less.
A few months ago, I happened to stumble upon a website called 'Bloglovin' (yes, it's that icon to the right of this post), and became addicted to discovering as many blogs as I could.  One blog that seemed to catch my eye--as it wasn't just designer, but someone elses interpretation of style and fashion--, was FashionToast.  I really seemed to like that fact that she wears those clunky rings that seem Mary-Kate Olsen can often be seen wearing.  For some reason it made them look more tough.
So, on Forever 21's homepage, there's not one but FIVE bloggers who have come up with a small collection of what they would wore - and the best part is, it won't break the bank.  So, go ahead, go take a peak - for once it's possible to get those stellar looks that those bloggers seem to pull off so well!

Spotted: CW's Gossip Girl Serena van der Woodsen in Paris!

So, last night I was watching Gossip Girl on the CW, as I sometimes tend to do on Monday nights, and instantly fell in love with some of the dresses that Serena and Blair were wearing.  The one that first caught my eye was the gorgeous candy-looking dress that Blair wore while she and Serena were out in Paris, eating those yummy Paris macaroons

Not everyone can afford designer so I have found some other samples with a fluffed up skirt that have the same shape; though they may not look the same, they still are nice to wear to a stroll in Paris.  All dresses from Forever21.

Spotted: CW's Nikita Gucci dress

If you were watching the premiere of CW's new show Nikita on Thursday (right after The Vampire Diaries), then hopefully you noticed the gorgeous grey silver bracket dress Nikita herself was wearing.  The dress is one of Gucci's own, from the Spring 2010 RTW fashion line.

Not everyone can afford a Gucci dress, so here are a few alternative options that still make a huge statement, without breaking the bank...

Celeb Inspiration

There are many different types of fashion inspiration, whether it be art, movies, or from the looks on the runway, one thing is for sure: celebrities are a huge source of fashion inspiration.  Some have stylists, -which serves as to how they got that necklace off the runway so fast,- but stylist or no stylist, celebrities will most likely be wearing the 'next big thing', the next 'trend', that you may or may nor be aware of.

Here are a few of my favourite celebrities that I look to when I'm in a rut with my fashin inspiration.

1.  Emma Watson

Emma tends to wear more classic, feminine clothes, yet she makes it look sophiscated.  Whether it be sweaters, scarves, shorts, heels, or even a simple dress, Emma always seems to rock the outfit. 

2. Rachel Bilson

 The ont thing I love about Rachel Bilson is that she can pull off so many different looks; I also recently have loved the bags she has, whether its Chanel, or Marc Jacobs, they always seem gorgeous!  Rachel is also a inspiration for those who are relatively short, and she always makes it look effortless.

3. Taylor Momsen

During the second, and the first half of the third season of gossip girl, I was absolutely in love with what Taylor Momsen wore as Jenny on Gossip Girl, and both have been incorporated in both characters.  Taylor wears more of an edgy rock than most on this post, but yet, it still looks effortless, and absolutely great, expeically for those who love those leather jackets.

4. Dakota Fanning

On the red carpet, Dakota is stunning, whether its pink or black.  Though she does tend to go towards more rock when not on the red carpet, she still wears some great peices, especially those chunky bags!
