Music I'm Listening To

Summer is all about resting, taking a break from school, and everything else that's hectic.  So, of course, I have my iPod packed with songs that make a day at the beach a bit more fun.  Here is some music that I am listening to this summer:

Even though Florence + the Machine isn't your typical Katy-Perry-pop sounding music, it still is pretty good.  My personal favorite is "Cosmic Love", which has appeared in many shows such as Vampire Diaries, and Grey's Anatomy.  They also recorded a track for one of the Twilight Saga records.

Colbie Caillat's hit 'Bubbly' is one of my favourites, and now with a new album out, there is more music to fill the iPod space.  Great for a relaxing day.

Katy Perry is a must-have on my iPod to get the party going.  She has just released a few new tracks for her new album including "California Gurls' and 'Teenage Dream'.

For people who like country music, Lady Antebellum is another must-have for my iPod.  My current favourite is 'Need You Now'

Another soft-rock-ish choice of mine would be Marie Digby.  A few of her songs have landed in TV shows such as The Hills, The City, and 90210.

Summer Travel Guide

Traveling to Paris, Italy, or Thailand can make summer so much more exciting!  For making the trip all that much easier, having a few things can make it easier.  Here are a few necessities that I would bring on my vacation!

One of the most important thing to bring back from vacation are memories; even if its only a day's roadtrip, I never forget my camera.  You never know what you might see, especially if you're traveling to an exotic location.

No matter where you go, having a passport is a necessitity these days; but when having one, you can go anywhere, and anytime.  Instead of searching for your passport in your bag for a while, maybe even thinking you forgot it, having a bright case can make it easier to spot.

If you ever have the trouble of having a full camera, a laptop can store all those photos, and make it easier to take another full stack of photos to show your friends when you return home.  Even posting some on Facebook while still on your trip is fun too.

Having water can help alot in the hot weather, but if you ever happen to not get enough water on some random day, lipbalm with sunscreen will make a huge difference in the sun.  Sunscreen while spending a day at the beach can make your vacation a lot funnier, instead of spending it in the hotel all day, with a huge sunburn on your back, or face.

When spending a on the beach, having sunglasses can help againest straining your eyes.

Having entertainment when spending a day on the beach, even it's a book, or music, can help pass the time away for some who get bored easily.

Even when on the plane, or at the beach, having a comfy pair of shoes can make all the difference.

When traveling to Italy, or Paris, having a travel guide can make it easier to get the most out of your vacation.  Having a travel guide can really explain the history, and has tons of location ideas that you never know existed.  It can also help with directions, where you want to go, where you can stay the night, and any exciting places, like little cafes in Paris, or vintage shops.

Wherever you go, make sure you have fun, even if it's for just a day's road trip.

Favorite Runway Looks

I'll admit, I've only been in love with fashion for about two years, which really isn't a long time, but in that time, I have become more aware about things like Fashion Week, and magazines such as Vogue, Teen Vogue, and Cosmo, and Harper's Bazaar.
Here are some of my favourite runway looks from designers such as Chanel, Alberta Ferreti, and many more.

Everyone love shoes; who doesn't?
Here is a little collage of my favourite shoes:

One to Watch: Artist

A few weeks ago, I happened to be completely bored, and for some unknown reason I happened to type "Taylor Swift  Painting" into Google, and came up with this:
I fell in love with this painting, and researched further to find that it was painted by an artist by the name of Danny Roberts; he is an artist out of California, who also has a blog called igorandandre.blogspot.com.  He has done collaborations with others such as Forever21, Gwen Stefani's Harajuki Lovers, and Lancome to name a few.  I then typed his name into Google, and found some more paintings of covers of Vogue, and of other bloggers, such as blogger SeaofShoes, Jane Aldridge, and Coco Rocha, a model who posts about the life as a model.
They are gorgeous paintings that seem to kind of have character..  I would totally recommend them for something to check out, or for something to hang on an empty wall.

Vintage Find

So a few days ago, I was vintage shopping at a local store, and I found this bag!  It is a Chanel bag, and I found it for only around $20!  I think the previous owner didn't totally know what she had, and it may be a 'fake' chanel bag, but it is the first designer piece that I have ever owned, and I am very proud of it!  When I bought it, a few stitches in the inside had come a little undone, but a quick sew job worked to bring it back to 'good-as-new'!  I hope that in the future I will get alot of use out of it; it's my new fav bag, so it is already packed with everything a purse needs!

'Coco Rocha: Today I'm Wearing...'

A few days ago I happened to stumble upon Coco Rocha's blog, ohsococo.blogspot.com.  For almost ten years, Coco has been walking down runways flaunting huge designer names such as Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Stella McCartney, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Over the last month, Coco has been posting pics of her daily outfits and posting them on vogue.co.uk.  for inspiraton on what a model wears on her day off, I would totally recommend checking it out; there are some sweet pics on the site.

Another WISHLIST!!

I am a huge fan of Chanel, so of course, I have quite a few things on this wishlist.  On the top left are a picture of Chanel shoes that I completely fell in love with after seeing them in another blog a few days ago.  The sides have see through meshed looking fabric. In the top middle is a Lious Vuitton bag, and on the right is a Marc Jacobs bag.  I am a huge fan of big bags, so of course I had to put a few on this wishlist!  The bottom left is a picture of one of my favourite coats, and by Burberry no less!! A perfect coat for walking in the city in winter!
In the bottom right are gladiator sandals, and the blue dress may be a few years old, but it's by Chanel, and I love it.  (I think Emma Watson wore a slightly different version of this dress to a premiere a few years back)!

Wishlist!

The UK shirt in the top left is by Olsenboye (26!) as well as the high heeled boots (80).  The leather jacket is by Karma, and the purse, and ballet flats are both by Chanel.

Recent Fashion Style Findings

Hey Everyone!
I recently picked up the newest edition of Teen Vogue (w/ Demi & Joe on the cover), and as i was flipping through it, I happened to notice a few things.

First of all, in nearly every shoot featured in the magazine, jean jackets are everywhere!!! What seemed old a few months ago is now new again!!

I personally love this jean jacket! It can be worn over a dress, a thin sweater, or whatever looks best!  So ladies, a little heads up, we will be seeing more of this jacket in the future!
Second, since the last couple of months, I have noticed that more and more people are tending to go towards the rock-n-roll atire! I, myself, love this look, and one of my MUST-HAVE items for this style, is a leather jacket.  TIP: if you are a Vampire Diaries fan, this type of jacket (by Karma) can be seen frequenting the screen; even the main characters can be seen in this hip new jacket in many scenes.
Also another frequent wearer (?) is Taylor Momsen, who is now dressing up to a pretty rock-n-roll atire, but never-the-less the leather jacket is another must-have item this summer.

And last, after scouring the pages of Teen Vogue, I happened to pass a story featuring Mark-Kate and Ashley's new clothing line 'OlsenBoye'.  Sold in JC Penny stores, this clothing line is much more affordable than some other lines they have come up with, and the recent clothing out seems really great!  Reading up on their new line, I found some info that every season they feature clothing from different areas of the world; this season is London!  I personally have never been to London (or even on that continent), but over the last couple of years I have come to appreciate the style that comes from there.  I take it as more a bit of grunge, kind of rock-n-roll, style.  Here's a pic of one of their blazers:

Summer has hardly started and already I'm teeming with excitement of what will happen next!

Fashion is my passion

Hey everyone!
If you are reading this, then this is my first post on this blog; the first of many to come.
I'm Emma, and have been watching the fashion world from afar. I don't live anywhere near any of the fashion capitals of the world, but I get what I need from the world wide web.
For the past few months, I have been steadily watching other fashion blog sites to see what other peoples inspiration and such is. So i have decided to start my own.

First things first: to start getting into the habit of taking photos of daily wear, for the next month I will try to post what I am wearing. Whether its a bathing suit (which is highly unlikely), or just a simple dress, I will be posting it!!
Second: the first thing I will be posting will be a wishlist!! (Just to start off with what my fashion style is!)

Love, Em
